Tyndall, Marvin Washington, 91, of Absecon, passed quietly at Mainland Hospital on November 30, 2020. Marvin was born in Oak Hall, VA on December 21, 1928 to Roy Washington Tyndall and Nellie Mae (Bull) Tyndall. After graduation from Atlantic High School in Oak Hall, VA, Marvin joined the United States Coast Guard where he served from 1951-1954. After serving in the USCG, he worked for the Navy who transferred him to NAFEC (now FAA Technical Center) where he was a scientific photographer. In June 1957, he married Pauline Porter, moving to New Jersey in 1958 and eventually settling in Absecon, NJ in 1961. He worked in the photo lab until his retirement in 1987. In his free time, he enjoyed communicating with other countries via ham radio, collecting coins, visiting his family in Virginia and his vacation cottage in Brownstown, PA. He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church since the 1970’s and a longtime member of the Shore Points Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) where he was awarded a SPARC Honorary Lifetime Membership for his commitment to the club. His amateur radio call sign was WB2VMV. Marvin is survived by his wife, Pauline; his son, James; his daughter, Nancy Dingler and her husband, Dean; his granddaughter, Rachel (Dingler) Layng and her husband, Rob; his grandson, Zachery Dingler; his sister, Hazel Wessells; and brothers-in-law, Robert “Gene” Porter and James McMahon; and many nieces and nephews. It is the purpose of this review to compare differences in postnatal epigenetic programming at the level of DNA and RNA methylation and later obesity risk between infants receiving artificial formula feeding (FF) in contrast to natural breastfeeding (BF). FF bears the risk of aberrant epigenetic programming at the level of DNA methylation and enhances the expression of the RNA demethylase fat mass- and obesity-associated gene (FTO), pointing to further deviations in the RNA methylome. Based on a literature search through Web of Science, Google Scholar, and PubMed databases concerning the dietary and epigenetic factors influencing FTO gene and FTO protein expression and FTO activity, FTO’s impact on postnatal adipogenic programming was investigated. Accumulated translational evidence underscores that total protein intake as well as tryptophan, kynurenine, branched-chain amino acids, milk exosomal miRNAs, NADP, and NADPH are crucial regulators modifying FTO gene expression and FTO activity. Increased FTO-mTORC1-S6K1 signaling may epigenetically suppress the WNT/β-catenin pathway, enhancing adipocyte precursor cell proliferation and adipogenesis. Formula-induced FTO-dependent alterations of the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA methylome may represent novel unfavorable molecular events in the postnatal development of adipogenesis and obesity, necessitating further investigations. BF provides physiological epigenetic DNA and RNA regulation, a compelling reason to rely on BF.

Alyssa Victoria-Rose Norman, 26, of Cabot, went home to be with Jesus on November 17, 2021. She was born July 24, 1995 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Thomas Mitchell Norman I and Rosemarie Pauline Guido-Moyster. Alyssa most importantly was a Mommy- Kingston was “The Love of her Life” and her world. She attended St Mary’s in North Little Rock, Lakewood Middle School, and Cabot High School- Class of 2014. She played volleyball, softball, and basketball. Alyssa became a realtor and loved cheese and the beach. Alyssa was baptized and read her Bible daily. She lived for Praise and Worship daily and God became the Center of her Life. Alyssa fought her demon of addiction with the loving help of The Harbor Home in Conway. She was able to turn her life around through their help, overcame her addiction, and use her story as a testimony to all- “My God turns my darkness into Light” Psalms 18:28. Alyssa leaves behind her son Kingston Allen Wayne Burt; parents Rosemarie and Bruce Moyster and Thomas and Rosalynd Norman; siblings Thomas Mitchell Norman II (daughter Charli), Jimmarica Jones, and Riley Hamilton; nephew CJ; father of her son Matthew Burt; and a host of family and friends to carry on and cherish her memory.
